The “hip hop biopic” trend has now become a thing, thanks to the massive success of 2015’s Straight Outta Compton. With everyone from 2Pac to New Edition to Nas with films out or in the works, it now appears that Dame Dash has plans to bring his life to the screen as well.
Speaking to Kenyatta of Hip Hop Motivation, Dash reveals that he plans to release a biopic on the life and times of Roc-A-Fella Records. “It’s currently in development, and it’s not what everyone is expecting,” Dame says, adding that he plans to show “what everyone didn’t see.” The real question is whether JAY Z will cosign on all of this, and it’s almost certain that he won’t even have a say in the film in the first place.
