Fans may never see another moment like Kanye West and JAY-Z‘s extravagantly exorbitant Watch The Throne days from the two together, but thanks to some key figures they get to know more behind-the-scenes information about the era.

David Cho, former publisher of Grantland and The Awl (not to be mistaken for David Choe the artist), stopped by the Rosenthal brothers’ “A Waste of Time” podcast to share some stories about his times with West and Jay (as well as stories with Justin Timberlake, Pharrell and Timbaland). In it Cho revealed that Kanye originally wanted to have every song title from the 2011 album to have the n-bomb on every song title (it was previously revealed that the one song that actually did do that, “N***as In Paris,” was originally supposed to be called “Ball So Hard”).

“[At a studio session] Kanye said, ‘We’re going to put the n-word in every single title on this album to that everyone has to say it, they have to confront it’,” Cho said.

Naturally, it didn’t happen. And, quite possibly, for the best.
