After a year of silence, Angel Haze returned late last year with the vigorous “Resurrection” — an official stamp on the Detroit rapper’s return — but over the last five-plus months, Haze has seemingly become recluse again as she puts the finishing touches on her sophomore album. Monday, though, Haze shared the video for her return single.
“I needed it to tell a story for me,” Haze told Billboard about the video. “I needed to make clear what hasn’t been clear in the past few years. I sat with my creative director, Nick Francis — he’s amazing. We talked about all these ways that we could incorporate who I actually am into my visuals. Well, I paint. I do photography. I do all sorts of artistic s–t. So we painted all the murals for the video.”
She also said there’s “so much singing” on her next album, which is “coming soon.” In the meantime, watch the “Resurrection” video below.
