What started out as a series of studio sessions between Ras Kass, El Gant, J57 and a bottle of Jameson eventually transpired into a new rap group: Jamo Gang.
Having already received a co-sign from one of the only living legends who matters—DJ Premier—Jamo Gang have surprisingly only released two—well, 1.5 singles to date: their introductory single “Here We Go Again” and “Straight, No Chase” which we briefly heard in their live teaser video in early April.
Now a couple weeks removed from performing at El Gant’s NYC bar The Mockingbird and Arlene’s Grocery, the trio have released “Straight, No Chase” in its full, drunken glory as El Gant, Rassy Kassy and FiveSe7enMusic’s Mean Joe Scheme go bar-for-bar, shot-for-shot set against J57’s grimy instrumental.
