For the third week in a row, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. has topped the Billboard 200 chart, selling 173,000 copies last week.

DAMN. debuted on top selling 606,000 copies before selling another 238,000 with its second week in rotation. We knew the album was certified platinum on Thursday, so we knew the project sold at least another 156,000 to bring the total over one million sold, but we now know the official 173,000 number.

Drake’s Views spent tons of weeks on top of Billboard, and with the summer heating up and DAMN. providing plenty of tracks for the weather (and, you know, it’s probably the best rap album out this year, too), I’m sure we’ll see a similar trend of it breaking all sorts of chart records.

After Kendrick, two albums made solid debuts on the Billboard 200. The Gorillaz’s new album, Humanz, sold 139,000 copies in its first week, and right behind it was Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman, which debuted at No. 3 selling 78,000 copies.

Wale’s new album, SHiNE, which was pushed up one week, sold 28,000 copies in its first week.

Chart mainstays like Drake’s More Life and Future’s self-titled album both continues churning and selling well, too, selling 68,000 and 29,000 copies, respectively.
