ScHoolboy Q: “A Black Hippy Album? Probably Not”

Still waiting for a Black Hippy album to drop? Well… it might not.

Speaking to Montreality, ScHoolboy Q fielded the usual off-kilter questions (losing his virginity at 12, initially hating 50 Cent, his idea for the perfect mobile app) before being asked about the whereabouts-slash-possibilities of a Black Hippy project from him, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock.

“Y’all been asking that question for four years,” Q replied. “I don’t know man. I’m already working on my next [album]. I don’t see the time. I can’t say that we’ll be in the studio getting a Black Hippy album ready, no matter how much Top [Dawg] wants it to happen. The chances of us getting into the studio together and working on Black Hippy is slim, because there’s too much going on. If we can make it work though, I’m down to do it. It’s just a lot of time put into albums.”

In other words: don’t hold your breath.

Clocking in at just under 14 minutes, Groovy Q also touches on losing his virginity at 12, pyschedlic drugs, being HUMBLE at TDE, 50 Cent’s inspiration and more.
