Well$ – “Day Ones”

blame it on Patrick Glynn June 5, 2017

Well$ is dropping an EP on Thursday called All Kings Get Their Heads Chopped Off. (This man clearly doesn’t mind long album titled. This follows The Way I’m living Makes My Mom Nervous.) As haunting as the project’s title, the North Carolina native’s new song, “Day Ones,” throws anyone trying to permeate his inner circle.

The song, which subtly samples Crime Mobb’s “Knuck If You Buck,” takes a look at a time when Well$ made his first round of friends, who were around when he was learning tough life lessons.

“‘Day Ones’ is about a simpler time, before I was a rapper,” Well$ began in a press email. “It’s also an ode to the people who have been a part of my journey from the beginning and continue to be there through all the ups and downs. Immaculate Taste over everything.”
