Damon Albarn has said he plans to release a bunch of music over the next year in addition to the hefty Gorillaz album, Humanz, given how much he and his contemporaries recorded over the two years of making the album.
Today, we get a sampling of the material that didn’t make the album with “Sleeping Powder,” a groovy and folky indie rock cut. Described as “a song by 2D,” the video sees the lead singer of the animated band dancing in front of a green screen (yes, that was weird to type) that’s depicting footage of ring leaders, coordinated dancers and fireworks.
