In February 2017, it was announced that JAY Z would be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. The first rapper to be bestowed the honor, Jigga was formally inducted today (June 15th).

Shawn is joined by the likes of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Berry Gordy, Max Martin and members of the American rock band Chicago (the latter which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016).

A plethora of artists have congratulated JAY on the accomplishment, including Bono of U2, Rakim, Quincy Jones, Chance The Rapper, André 3000 and several others.

JAY Z took to his randomly-used Twitter account as well, to give thanks to a host of artists who inspire him—including Eminem, André 3000, Kool G Rap, Redman, me, you, your mama and her cousin, Kendrick. Hell, even Joe Budden got a shout.
