Macklemore Announces First Solo Album In 12 Years, Drops “Glorious” f. Skylar Grey

Returning with his first bit of new music since his post-election hangover song “Wednesday Morning,” Macklemore releases “Glorious” featuring Skylar Grey. The song is the first single off an upcoming solo album from Macklemore — his first since The Language of My World in 2005 and a departure from his successful collaborations with Ryan Lewis.

“Glorious” features a routine positive outlook on life — one that’s been a basis of many Macklemore songs since his recovery from addiction, relapse and birth of his daughter. Led by Skyler Grey singing lyrics like “I made it through the darkest part of the night, and now I see the sunrise” on the hook, Macklemore chants about how lucky he feels to be living over Budo production.
