Terrace Martin & The Pollyseeds are releasing their Sounds of Crenshaw Vol. 1 album on July 14. The jazz supergroup — which consists of a rotating lineup featuring the likes of Kamasi Washington, Rose Gold, Problem and more — have shared the first two singles, “Intentions” and “Up & Away,” so far, and today, they introduce the third: a cover of Janet Jackson’s “Funny How Time Flies.”

The cover, like the original, is a slow-burner, and it features Robert Glasper. The pace picks up toward the end during a drum solo, then slowly calms into the moody, synth-laden sound that kickstarted the song.

Listen to the cover below, and pre-order the album on iTunes.
