Preview Lil Wayne’s “Magnolia” Remix; DJ Drama Says ‘Dedication 6’ Is Coming “Soon”

blame it on Patrick Glynn July 5, 2017

Cover in label disputes over the last couple years, the last Lil Wayne project, No Ceilings 2, came in 2015. (Save for the finally-liberated T-Wayne project with T-Pain, of course.) And two years in Lil Wayne’s discography is like two centuries.

Though Birdman continues to hold back Tha Carter V — and having the world’s resident pharma-douche letting loose samples of the album every other month — Weezy has announced he has more than just that in the works. There’s Funeral, too, which he announced in November last year, and there’s of course Dedication 6, which was announced over a year ago and would be the first in the Dedication series since 2013.

DJ Drama — who has hosted the first five Dedication‘s — took to Instagram a couple days ago to tease that the sixth in the series would be coming “soon” by posting a picture of a D6 terminal gate sign.

There was also a preview of Lil Wayne’s remix of Playboi Carti’s “Magnolia.” Seeing as the Dedication mixtapes are largely based on remixes, the timing seems right for this remix to land on a D6 release.

Will any of this ever see the light of day? We sure hope so. But there’s no word at all when any of these works will come.
