21 Savage Drops Debut Album, ‘ISSA’

21 Savage is a fascinating individual.

A staple in Atlanta’s underworld for years, Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph burst into the mainstream with his collaborative effort with Metro Boomin, Savage Mode. That led to the breakout single “X,” which led to a Platinum plaque, which led to another for “No Heart,” which ultimately led to 21 landing a deal with Epic Records.

All the while, 21 unintentionally created a new catchphrase while describing his forehead tattoo: “Issa knife.” The term spread like wildfire, and now 21 has flipped that into the title of his major label debut, ISSA.

A 14-track project, ISSA goes solo throughout the project, enlisting in the production services of Pi’erre Bourne, Wheezy, Southside, DJ Mustard and Metro Boomin. Stream the project below, and cop a copy on iTunes.
