Stream Shabazz Palaces’ Two New Albums A Week Early

Shabazz Palaces have returned with their first project(s) since 2014’s Lese Majesty.

Originally announced back in April, the duo revealed their album Quazarz: Born On A Gangster Star would be released three months later on July 14. A spooky, infectious and dusty single “Shine A Light” came along with it. The next week, Ish and Tendai revealed a second album — Quazarz vs. The Jealous Machines — would drop on the same day as the first.

Since then, they’ve nearly weekly dropped singles from both projects, like “Since C.A.Y.A.” with Thundercat and “Julian’s Dream.”

The projects are interconnected. “Quazarz came to the Earth from somewhere else, a musical ambassador from his place to ours,” the tale is described on SubPop, who released the album. “Somehow, through fire or through fury, the Palaceer of Shabazz Palaces caught wind of the tale, and it is through his prism that we hear the story.”
