After a 15 year hiatus in which they both expanded on their solo careers, Mr. Lif and Akrobatik reunited as The Perceptionists last month with an announcement of their new album, Resolution — their first since 2005’s Black Dialogue — dropping July 28.
Following their protest of social injustice and police brutality on “Hose Down,” Lif and Akro are back in business with the hard-as-nails second single, “Dirty Drumz.” With Lif on the beat, the two proceed to show off their lyrical talents with a rugged and raw, boom-bap masterpiece.
“All the world wants is some dirty ass drums,” Lif raps. “We stand where we stand and we don’t plan to run.”
