For the fourth consecutive Friday, JAY-Z has released the fourth video off his acclaimed chart-topping album 4:44, for “Kill JAY-Z.”
Following “BAM,” “The Story Of O.J.” and the title track, “Kill JAY-Z” focuses on a young Black male — adorned in a t-shirt that reads “Stay Black” — seemingly running for his life. The video then cuts to another Black male floating down a river, then lying face-up in the middle of a desert.
Directed by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz, Jay says that the song itself is “about killing off the ego, so we can have this conversation in a place of vulnerability and honesty.”

UPDATE (7/27): Sticking with tradition, “Kill JAY-Z” is now available for all via YouTube.
