The month of June is one which every nerd fantasizes about, including yours truly, where some of the biggest movie and comic book/nerd cultures clash in sunny California.
Disney’s D23 Expo wrapped up last week, where Marvel Studios unveiled a teaser trailer for their highly-anticipated Infinity War film — much to raging delight from every geek in the room
This week, Marvel brought their A-game to Comic-Con San Diego. After premiering footage from the upcoming Punisher Netflix standalone series at The Defenders panel yesterday, Jeph Loeb — head of Marvel Television — and the entire cast gave fans a second glimpse into the upcoming team up with the second official trailer for The Defenders.
As with most of the trailers which debut at Comic-Con, Netflix has uploaded it for our viewing pleasure. The clip opens up with a narration by the series’ main antagonist and big bad, Alexandra, portrayed by Sigourney Weaver, as we see montages of our storied street-level heroes: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist running through their respective neighborhoods, before banding together to fight a few familiar threats.
We won’t give away any other details, but I will say this: there are two things I’m definitely excited about seeing — the witty banter between Jessica and the rest of the crew, especially Danny Rand; and two, the eventual bond between Danny and Luke which will give fans what we’ve all been waiting for: Heroes For Hire.
Watch the trailer below and catch all eight episodes on Netflix on August 18th.
