With his longtime friend and collaborator Ryan Lewis outsourcing his production skills for the likes of Kesha (he produced the first single from her soon-to-be-released first album in a half-decade, “Praying“), Macklemore has been exploring the solo waters as well, recently dropping “Glorious.” With his first solo album since The Language of My World in 2005 on the horizon, he took to Zane Lowe‘s Beats 1 Radio show to debut the second offering from it, “Marmalade.”

Featuring Lil Yachty, the song remains in the same cheery and upbeat lane as “Glorious.” “This album has been a different experience, and in a lot of ways a lot of fun” Mack said to Lowe. “Yachty to me is super dope, I’ve always been a fan of him, I think that he brings a new young voice in the game,” he continued.

Alongside premiering “Marmalade,” Mack speaks on the musical direction of his upcoming album, shared some interesting tidbits on the project, and more.
