L.A.Z (of Clear Soul Forces) – No Paperwork (EP)

blame it on JES7 August 10, 2017

Although the concept may not be entirely new, there’s a measured depth to the artwork created for L.A.Z‘s latest EP, No Paperwork. The lyricist of Detroit Hip-Hop group Clear Soul Forces literally burned his last dollar to shoot the cover art, explaining that the project is “the soundtrack to being a starving artist in transition” whom moves to the beat of their own drum.

While producer Ilajide held down most of the instrumentation for previous Clear Soul Forces outings, L.A.Z steps into the role—and being able to direct the entire ship into his vision makes it a much more personal project, exploring the dichotomy of strife and triumph, but never surrendering nor retreating.
