Miami rapper Kidd Wes taps fellow regional native Twelve’len for his reflective new tune, “11 to 12,” premiered at the DopeHouse today.
The song tells the story of the vicious life of a young black woman Wes knows, ranging from abusive parents to a cheating boyfriend. “Sometimes, we never know what people are going through,” he says over the piano-driven production that rings similar to the leading single from a massive British pop star. “Sometimes people are smiling, but they might be going through a lot.”
“11 to 12” will land on Wes’s upcoming album, Eleven: The Junior Senior Year, out in September. Listen to the single below.
