Lil Wayne, who recently made pit stops in Cologne and Stuttgart, Germany in support of his World Wide Weezy Tour phoned in to New Orleans’ Q93 with host Wild Wayne for a brief interview.

The NOLA legend opened up on a variety of topics, including the third installment of his annual Lil Weezyana Fest (going down next Friday, August 25th with special guests Gucci Mane and Rich the Kid), the possibility of Nicki Minaj making an appearance.

Of course, Wild Wayne pressed Weezy on a question that’s still burning in everyone’s minds: “Will we ever see Tha Carter V.

Despite the current legal woes and personal rifts between Birdman and Lil Wayne, Wayne chuckled at the question, replying “Of course you’re gonna see Tha Carter V.”

“I don’t wanna put it out the wrong way,” he continued. “Honestly, I can do what I want at anytime. The fans deserve it to be right and that’s how it’s gonna be. I’ma make sure it’s right […] But I’m not gonna give them Carter V the wrong way.”

When asked if his recent, previously-vaulted song “Like a Man” would appear on the now-mythical album, Weezy says it was something he recorded a few years ago, while adding that no tweaks are being added to the upcoming album. “Oh no, Carter V is done. Carter V is on the shelf, just ready to drop. You know, I don’t have to – I ain’t gotta do that. I’ll move on and keep it moving and give em what I’m doing right now. But Carter V ready to be listened to. It just gotta be listened to the right way. And like I said, I ain’t gonna give it to them wrong.”

And there you have it folks! You’ll get The Carter V when Weezy feels it’s the right time to be listened to.
