A Sports Anchor Paid Tribute To Travis Scott In An Awesome Way

If news stations incorporating hip hop references into their broadcast actually becomes a normal thing, than the DopeHouse will be here for all of that.

Similar to Mark Arum and Fred Blankenship of Atlanta’s WSB-TV Channel 2’s awesome tribute to Mobb Deep’s Prodigy, Scott Daniels of San Luis Obispo’s KSBY-TV included references to Travis Scott throughout his own sportscast. A lot of references.

Utilizing lines, song titles and ad-libs from “goosebumps,” “Butterfly Effect” and everything in between, Daniels name-checked something from every project La Flame has done from Owl Pharaoh and Days Before Rodeo (the Astros coverage has a mention of “Upper Echelon” and “Mamacita,” for example) to Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight and his recent string of loosies. In total, Daniels drops forty-two references throughout his three-minute segment, and even admits what he’s doing in the middle of it all. “And that reminds me,” he says, “Travis, please drop Astroworld.”
