Good news, Jay Rock fans: it seems like we’re close to getting a new Jay Rock album!
Tuesday afternoon, Top Dawg — the TDE founder and CEO — took to Instagram to reveal that he, Jay Rock and MixedbyAli were in the studio mixing Rock’s new album, noting that, “We are getting close to lift off” — a.k.a. the album’s just about done mixing and we’ll soon reap the benefits.
Top Dawg also previewed a new Jay Rock song along with the announcement. It’s an energetic effort, as Rock is rapping along furiously to the cut. He raps, “me and Grizzley on the track,” at the end of the preview, leading us to believe Tee Grizzley will be featured on the full song. Makes sense, given the preview has a similar energy to Grizzley’s massive “First Day Out.”
No word on any release date yet, but this should get you antsy to find out one soon.
