I dig the hell out of Mello Music Group, because they’re consistent as hell — both is the quality of music and how they release the music. Announced a couple months in advance, projects released on the label usually get a good run of promo with singles and videos — you know, like old times — before its released, allowing lesser-known commodities to have a nice grace period of hype building before the whole project is presented to to the public.

So is the case with Apollo Brown and Planet Asia‘s new joint album, Anchovies.

The duo announced the album in early July, allowing singles like “Dalai Llama Slang” with Willie The Kid, “The Aura” and “Panties In A Jumble” naturally permeate the rap world ahead of Anchovies‘ release. Out now, it has just three features across 15 tracks: the aforementioned Willie The Kid, Tristate and Guilty Simpson, who himself has made an album with Brown.
