A$AP Rocky’s Third Album Will “For Sure” Drop This Year

blame it on Patrick Glynn August 28, 2017

A$AP Rocky rapped on A$AP Twelvyy’s “Diamonds” the following:

Before my shit was even out you couldn’t wait to get it/
But now the shit I’m puttin’ out gon’ make you think to get it/
Take a minute, God’s present ’cause I’m way too gifted/
So next album fuck around and make you wait ’til Christmas/

So that seemed like he was ready to drop his next album, his third following Long. Live. A$AP. and At. Long. Last. A$AP — he just didn’t want to release it yet.

August would’ve seemed like the perfect time to release it after Twelvyy’s 12, A$AP Ferg’s Still Striving and the A$AP Mob’s second Cozy Tapes all dropped; Rocky could’ve capped off the extraordinary month with a project of his own. But according to a new interview, Rocky’s next album isn’t too far away at all. The “Diamonds” verse was more like a “this is the latest it’ll come out” declaration.

While at a Cozy Tapes Vol. 2 listening session, Rocky was asked by Complex if his next album would come out this year. His response? “Yeah, for sure,” with an emphasis on the “for sure.”

He avoided a question about the sound of his next work by responding to a compliment that A.L.L.A. was ahead of its time. “It was ahead of its time,” he said. “That was abnormal then, but in the near future, now in the present, it’s going to be normal, trust me.”

So this album is dropping in June, right?
