Kodak Black – “Black Cat”

blame it on Patrick Glynn August 31, 2017

As if the 19 songs on Project Baby 2 weren’t plenty, Kodak Black offers his second new song this week after releasing his mixtape less than two weeks ago.

Similar to “1,000,” the latest tune — “Black Cat” — is sentimental, but “Black Cat” digs deeper into Kodak’s psyche after a life full of trauma, causing him to wonder both if he’s a bad luck charm to those around him and how much of his life can be chalked up to bad luck and outside pressure. In the end, though, Kodak raps, “I’m focused on the future, I ain’t worried ’bout the past,” and that’s the best way to go about it.

The song was presented in a video, which Kodak co-directed, and you can watch it below.
