Jared Evan – “Back To Brooklyn”

blame it on Shake September 1, 2017

With The Blanket Truth still getting spins, Jared Evan is back with his first new song since releasing the album in November of last year.

Staying grounded, no matter how far his career and life in general takes him, Evan will always find himself heading “Back To Brooklyn,” where it all began.

“When I was 19, I won this competition that The Source curated called the Spit 16,” Evan said. “My prize was being able to open up and perform at The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. That moment symbolizes my start and where I was even before day 1.”

“The song is a metaphor for not getting caught up in the smoke and mirrors of the music business,” he continued. “Not forgetting who you are. It’s about going back to where you started and never forgetting where you came from. Brooklyn symbolizes that for me.”
