50 Cent Reups With Starz, Previews New Show On BET

Per usual, 50 Cent got his way.

Over the last several months 50 has been taking pot shots at Starz, home to his hit television series POWER (which just ended its fourth season on September 3rd), and even threatened to take the show to another network despite being the second-highest rated premium cable show. However, in the end, Starz — for lack of a better term — gave 50 that bag.

Taking to his Instagram page, 50 announced that he reached a new deal with Chris Albrecht, the Chief Executive Officer and President of Starz, that will potentially give POWER more episodes per season (which 50 admits that that has been one the series’ weak spots) as well as shorten the wait in between seasons.

“I just got off with Chris Albrecht, head of STARZ,” he said in the post. “New deal, more POWER coming your way. Next season there will be less of a wait. Thanks for supporting me, I can’t believe how much money they just gave me. That sh*t just f***ed with my nerves my hand is shaking. LOL TURN THAT SH*T BACK ON NOW.”

50 also put up another Instagram post where he jokingly tattooed “STARZ” on his forehead, revealing that he also has three more programs in the works for the network: BMF (which will be inspired by The Black Mafia Family, a drug trafficking organization founded by brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory), Tomorrow Today and I Got Away.

Curtis has also shared teasers of his new late-night show, 50 Central, which is set to debut September 27th on BET.
