For those that don’t know, I’ve been a tour deejay for a traveling event series known as Hennypalooza for a few years now, and what initially started as a game night in a Harlem basement has transformed into a massive cross-country soirée that has featured the likes of Wale, Pusha T, Chance The Rapper, Cam’ron and countless others.
The premise is simple enough: attendees pay a nominal fee to enter, and they get access to several open bars offering everything from Hennessy (because, duh) to wine… while supplies last, or until they collapse from near-alcohol poisoning. Trust me, I’ve seen the latter way too many times, but I’m digressing.
Ahead of its fifth anniversary celebration, Hennypalooza will head to Coney Island for and end-of-summer mini-festival. Alongside myself and my crew The Left Coast, the likes of DJ Clark Kent and Ja Rule — yes, Ja Rule. Not, it’s not that — will headline the event.
