On what would’ve been Amy Winehouse‘s 34th birthday, Gallant and Dua Lipa pay homage to the late singer with a beautiful cover of “Tears Dry On Their Own.”
As part of Gallant’s ongoing In The Room series (which has featured John Legend and Andra Day in previous episodes), the duo play off each other perfectly, running through the Back To Black classic while facing each other and a band provides the canvas.
“I loved working on this song with Gallant, he’s so talented,” Dua Lipa told The Fader. “I was so excited to have the opportunity to work with him, he’s a true artist through and through.”
“Dua is a fantastic artist and I was shocked to hear she wanted to do and episode of ‘In The Room’ with me,” Gallant added. “I think we created a special moment together.”
