The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards aired tonight (September 17th), and there have already been a pair of pleasant surprises in the world of hip hop.
During host Stephen Colbert‘s opening monologue, the comedian took shots at everything political, even bringing out ousted White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer to the shock of the crowd. Then, Chance The Rapper popped up for a brief cameo, rapping about Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Game Of Thrones and more.

Following the funnies, Donald Glover would win both Lead Actor In A Comedy Series and the Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series Emmy for Atlanta.
Who would present him with the Outstanding Directing award, for episode “B.A.N.”? None other than Dave Chappelle.
Black. Excellence.
