Hopsin Returns with “The Purge”

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Hopsin, but the LA-bred rapper is officially back in action.

After kicking off the year with “All Your Fault,” Hop got some sh*t off his chest on “BUS That,” before ducking back out of the public eye. But that doesn’t mean he wasn’t working, though. In fact, that’s all he has been doing.

“I come out of limbo in July,” Hop promised on IG back in June. “I’ve been stacking up my ammo because after this project, I ain’t leaving for a very long time. I got my album complete, most the videos shot for it and a crazy new ‘ILL Mind 9’ for you guys. I can admit that I’ve been kinda slacking these past few years but I finally got my mind right.”

Unfortunately, July came and went without a single song, video or album released. Fast forward three months, Hopsin is back and seemingly ready to deliver this time.

“Earlier this year, I stated I would be returning out of limbo in July. It is now September. Hey, I f*cked up,” Hop said in an over-the-top announcement of his new single. “But what wise man doesnt f*ck up from time to time?”

“This Friday, Sept. 22, Hip-Hop will be having its first annual purge,” he continued. “I’ll see you there.”

Well, Friday has (technically) arrived, and “The Purge” is available now on your preferred streaming platform. A video for the song was released, as well, and it’s a complete sh*t show. From Hop’s head on a mantle, rapping at a KKK dinner to Kim Jong-un and Trump battling on the linoleum. Press play and get ready for the invasion.
