Macklemore Drops ‘Gemini’ Album, First Solo Effort in 12 Years

While the majority of people will recognize Macklemore from his work with Ryan Lewis, the truth is, he’s been making moves within the Seattle underground for years before The Heist took over the world in 2012.

Our first experience with Mack came three years prior, when he and Ryan Lewis flipped the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Otherside” for their VS EP in 2009. But if we’re gonna dive into Mack the solo artist, we’ve gotta take it back to 2005 with his debut solo album, The Language Of My World.

Now, a dozen years and an unruly mess later, Macklemore is back as a solo artist with his sophomore effort, Gemini.

Led by “Glorious” with Skyler Grey, “Marmalade” with Lil Yachty and “Good Old Days” with Kesha, Macklemore made it a point to also include a bevy of lesser known talents, including Dave BTravis Thompson, ABIR, Dan Caplan, and more. Offset also makes an appearance on “Willy Wonka,” which was previewed earlier this week.
