blame it on Meka September 21, 2017

From her days with Kooley High to breaking out on her own with 2012’s The Idea Of Beautiful, Rapsody has been both a favorite of and mainstay at the DopeHouse for years.

One of today’s preeminent artists, she’s shown out on virtually every song she’s been on, from Kendrick Lamar‘s “Complexion (A Zulu Love)” to Torii Wolf‘s “Shadows Crawl” and everything in between.

Joining Roc Nation in 2016, Rap has seen her stock rise with each passing day. She has now released her major label debut (and second studio album in total), Laila’s Wisdom. The talented wordsmith has an incredible assortment of guests throughout the project, including Kendrick, Black Thought, Anderson .Paak, BJ the Chicago Kid, Jamla’s GQ, Musiq Soulchild, Gwen Bunn, TDE’s Lance Skiiiwalker, Terrace Martin, and L.A. trio Moonchild.

The album is lead by the 2Dope singles “Pay Up,” “Power” with K. Dot and Lance, and “You Should Know” with Busta Rhymes, with production duties primarily handled by 9th Wonder, The Soul Council, Nottz, and Terrace.
