Lakers PG, Lonzo Ball Drops “Zo2”

blame it on Shake September 28, 2017

As a life-long Lakers fan, I’m no stranger to my favorite players on the court jumping into the booth and testing the waters of the rap game. Shaq did it. Kobe tried. And now, young Lonzo Ball is stepping to the plate with “Zo2.”

Although “Zo2” isn’t Lonzo’s first musical release, it’s the first time we’re featuring the Lakers rookie guard here.

Let’s just say, it took us a second to get past the fact he has Future in his Top 5 of all time. But when you factor in his age (19) and see Lil Wayne, DMX, 50 Cent and 2Pac round out the list, it’s easier to understand Zo is just a product of his generation. And hey, who are we to judge? It’s not like his personal list affects our taste in music.

Saying Nas is “outdated” and calling Migos and Future “real hip hop” is another story. But again, we’re just gonna chalk it up to youth and the fact that he’s been locked in on basketball since LaVar put a ball in his crib. Putting up all those shots, who has time to dive into the rich (and amazing) history of hip hop? And it’s not like Zo is a full-time rapper. He’s an NBA player who likes to rap on the side. Who cares if his opinion is wrong different?

Anyways, with the NBA season on the horizon, Lonzo unveiled a new design for his (outrageously priced) signature shoe, the BBB Zo2 Prime. Along with a new look, the “lightest basketball shoe ever made” was presented with an accompanying anthem, available on all streaming platforms. Press play and check it out below.
