Saukrates & Kardinal Offishall Rep Toronto to the Fullest on “Jays Fitted”

A pure heavyweight in the Canadian hip hop scene, Saukrates might not get the recognition he deserves, but you better believe the respect is there.

From producing for Nas and Redman to touring with Nelly Furtado, the veteran emcee/producer’s name rings bells well beyond the Canadian border. And on November 13th, he’s looking to extend his reach even further with the release of Season 2, a follow-up to 2012’s Season One, five years in the making.

To help kick things off, Saukrates has reunited with fellow Canadian legend Kardinal Offisihall for “Jays Fitted,” a soulful ode to the good and bad of Toronto.

“Staying away from the cliché of needing to write a hometown anthem, we actually were able to return to our roots of conscious art and collaborate again,” Saukrates says. “This undertaking is anthemic in itself!”

“Saukrates is one of the most talented people to ever emerge out of the greater Toronto area,” Kardi says of his hometown brethren. “He is directly responsible for my success and has contributed to the success of Drake, Choclair, and so many others in the rap world. I’m honoured to contribute to my brother’s legacy once again.”
