Having one of the more interesting releases in recent memory, Kanye West‘s The Life Of Pablo was known largely for its constantly changing nature, as West — who described the project as “a living, breathing, changing, creative expression” frequently altered and updated the album for several months following its initial release on February 14, 2016. In April 2017, The Life of Pablo became the first streaming only album to go Platinum, and over a year later it continues to set records.

Kanye’s seventh album has now become the first to go Gold in the UK from streaming alone. Like the States, streams were officially implemented into the UK’s music charts in 2015, and according to The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) the album has totaled the equivalent of over 100,000 copies sold, which is enough for the certification.

Reported by BBC News, The Life of Pablo debuted in the Official Albums Chart in May 2016 at No. 30, then proceeded to spend the next 47 weeks in the Top 100.

This marks Kanye’s eighth Top 40 album in the UK. He has topped the charts twice in his career: in 2007, with Graduation, and in 2013 with Yeezus.
