All-Star NBA point guard Chris Paul and JAY-Z have had a long-standing friendship, going back to the days of when Paul played on the New Orleans Hornets. Now a member of the Houston Rockets after six years with the Los Angeles Clippers, Paul hopes to be able to attain that elusive championship ring playing alongside fellow All-Star James Harden.
In a clip off the upcoming three-part documentary series, “Chris Paul’s Chapter 3,” Paul is seen weighing his options with Jay. Taking place before he was traded to the Rockets, Chris opens up about the Los Angeles Clippers’ culture (the team had been to the playoffs in each of his six years with the team; prior to that, they hadn’t even smelled the playoffs since the 2005-2006 season), and how he ultimately felt unsure that the team could win a championship. Meanwhile, Jay offers some food for thought on how the then-potential move would affect his family.
