In September, J. Cole took to his seldom-used Twitter to call for a boycott of the NFL following the organization’s alleged blackballing of Colin Kaepernick. However, he also showed praise and support for Cardi B as well.
“Also Cardi B I seen your Breakfast Club interview, loved it,” he said. “Don’t put all that pressure on your album. You already won. Just drop & repeat.”

Cardi ecstatically responded in kind. “Is this real. Son my heart is smiling. Well who am I not to take J Cole advice.”

The two would finally meet for the first time, at Real 9.23’s annual holiday concert The REAL Show in Los Angeles this past weekend (November 18th). While together, Cole would speak on how his wife and child put him on to her music, before sharing more advice.
