Cincinnati-reared singer Arin Ray cut his chops back in 2012 as a contestant on The X-Factor. While he placed in the top ten, following his elimination his career path did not go as he expected.

“I wasn’t being myself,” he said of the experience. “That’s what happens when you don’t take yourself seriously. I could’ve worked harder. It taught me that maybe I wasn’t where I needed to be. So let me get there.”

Now, having written for and/or worked with the likes of Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, Jeremih and several others, Ray appears to be on the right path. Currently on the road with H.E.R. as the opening act on her Lights On Tour, Ray releases his latest offering “We Ain’t Homies.”

“My music has that old-school feel, but still has that new bounce,” he says on his style. “There are some great artists out there pushing the culture forward. I wanna be one of them.”

Arin also dropped another offering, “Stressin’.”

Arin previously dropped another jam in 2016 with Boogie, “Hope It Don’t Kill Me.”
