Thanks to the Internet, J.I.D Shares ‘Para Tu’ Mixtape from 2013

Gawd bless the internets.

Not only has it provided me a way of living for the last decade plus, the good folks at Reddit’s /HipHopHeads have also helped in gifting us with a rare project from one of the game’s brightest rising stars: Dreamville’s J.I.D.

Before J.I.D joined the house that J. Cole built, the Atlanta rhymesayer was making moves as part of the Spillage Village crew with fellow ATLien’s EarthGang, and Baltimore natives Hollywood JB and Jordxn Bryant.

In 2013, before the world was blessed with DiCaprio and before SV released a trio of annual projects in Bears Like This (2014), Bears Like This Too (2015) and Bears Like This Too Much (2016), J.I.D followed up his Route of Evil mixtape debut with a second offering called Para Tu.

Locked in at 11 tracks, including “October/3 Storms” with EarthGang, and features from JB, Jordxn, Marian Mereba, Chiiirp, and Tylon Matthews, Para Tu is further proof of Mr. Route’s abilities on the mic. And, thankfully, it’s no longer a hidden gem as J.I.D has officially re-released the project for those that never got to hear it.

“I’m about to put #ParaTu back on my Soundcloud. Saw it’s been posted online so I decided to upload it myself,” J.I.D said on Twitter. “Y’all really love me and I love y’all back. I took this down because I be sensitive with my art sometimes, but being appreciated is the feels. I’ma keep working on the new doe.”
