It’s safe to say that the DopeHouse can’t wait for the second season of Atlanta to arrive.
Dubbed Atlanta Robbin’ Season, Donald and Stephen Glover likened round two to Tiny Toons: How I Spent My Summer Vacation, in which every episode — while enjoyed individually — is tied to each other, making an eleven episode story. “If you watched them all together, they were a movie,” said Stephen. “We kind of took that idea of a whole story, but being told in a bunch of little parts that could be a show.”
Donald added, “You enjoy them if they’re together, but you can also enjoy them in little bits.”
They also expounded upon the Atlanta Robbin’ Season title: “It’s a very dangerous, uncertain time in the city. So everybody’s shaken up a little bit this year, and everybody has to make important decisions,” Stephen said. “‘Robbin’ Season’ is kind of like a metaphor for all of our characters.”
After getting the hype machine rolling with the first teaser, a second has surfaced. This time starring Donald, the brief clip features him literally falling into various scenarios yet once again revealing nothing about the story (or does it?). Watch below.
