Jermaine Dupri To Be Inducted Into Songwriters Hall Of Fame

The Don Chi Chi is now a Hall of Famer.

Following JAY-Z in 2017, Billboard reports that Jermaine Dupri will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 2018. Along with John Mellencamp, Alan Jackson, and Kool & the Gang, JD is now the second hip hop artist to be admitted.

Songwriters are eligible for induction into the Hall after composing hit songs for at least 20 years.

Dupri is, arguably, one of Atlanta’s most important hip hop artists. Alongside producing for the likes of Usher, Mariah Carey, JAY-Z, Janet Jackson, TLC, Ludacris, Aretha Franklin(!) and much more, he has also guided the careers of Da Brat, Jagged Edge, Kriss Kross, Xscape and several others through his So So Def label.

Dupri shared his joy on Twitter.

Jermaine will be inducted at during the Songwriter Hall Of Fame’s June 14th ceremony. Congrats!
