Never in life did I ever think I’d say that Calvin Harris would mastermind one of my favorite albums of the year, yet he did just that with 2017’s Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1. He has now released his first new single of 2018, “Nuh Ready Nuh Ready,” with PARTYNEXTDOOR.
Debuting the song on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, Calvin spoke to Zane about the album briefly. “It was the least commercially viable thing anyone’s ever done,” he said. “I was literally playing a gig in Vegas on a Friday and then giving the money to a feature.”
“Nuh Ready Nuh Ready” is kind of a step in a different direction, however. Sonically, it will remind listeners of Calvin’s EDM days, but with a splash of Caribbean flavor courtesy of PND. The pair have also released a Technicolor-style video for the track, which can be seen below.
