TDE & Kendrick Lamar Present ‘Black Panther: The Album’

blame it on Meka February 9, 2018

For persons of color, you’d be hard-pressed to find anybody who isn’t excited for Marvel’s upcoming film Black Panther. Be it the diverse, award-winning cast, the incredible costume design, the overwhelmingly positive reviews, or the simple fact that it will likely become the highest-grossing Black-lead action film of all time (Sorry, Blade), I’ve never felt this much representation in a superhero film — which is based on the first Black superhero comic book — ever.

Top Dawg Entertainment knows that too, as they have carefully curated the accompanying soundtrack for the film. Alongside the label’s own artists — Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q, and Ab-Soul — the likes of Travis Scott, Future, James Blake, Anderson .Paak, SOB x RBE, Mozzy, Vince Staples, Jorja Smith, Khalid, The Weeknd and Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee are among the features throughout the 14-track release.

Preceded by the singles “King’s Dead,” “All The Stars” and “Pray For Me,” Black Panther: The Album can be heard below. Press play and add the soundtrack on your preferred streaming platform.
