Sade is, quite literally, one of those musicians in a that rare “transcendence” stage in her career where she doesn’t have to drop music in years to maintain her legacy and relevance. Case in point: her and her eponymous band’s last album, Soldier of Love, came out in 2010, which arrived a decade after its predecessor Lovers Rock. Now, eight years after Soldier of Love, they return with their first new song, “Flower Of The Universe.”
Produced by No I.D., the song will find life on Disney’s upcoming soundtrack for the film A Wrinkle In Time (directed by Ava DuVernay, hitting theaters March 9th). I.D. had previously announced its impending arrival on Twitter a few days ago.
