If you’ve been keeping up with The Joe Budden Podcast, you’d know Budden’s son, Trey, has been working on a “diss song” addressing all the issues he’s had with his father over the years. Joey might be all about his newborn baby now. But he’d be the first to tell you how it wasn’t the case the first time around. Thankfully, time (does its best) to heal wounds, and they’ve been working on repairing their relationship.
Still, Trey has some things to get off his chest. And after taking his time on perfecting the record, “Thoughts After the Courtroom” has been released.
“This song took a long time for me to work on because I wanted it to be perfect, this is something that kind of hits close to home and we wanted to portray every emotion throughout the song,” Trey said on Instagram. “Currently, I have no beef with my dad and I love him but these are my thoughts from remembering what happened at the time and how unhealthy our father-son relationship was.”
Trey joins a laundry list of artist who have been taking shots at Joe on wax, including his best friends, Migos and Lil Yachty. But will Joe respond? Of course not, he’s retired. But he did take some time to laugh it off on Twitter.
“Getting dissed by your son on wax is crazy.” — future MAL.
