Lou Phelps – “Come Inside” f. Jazz Cartier & Kaytranada (Video)

Welcome to The Lou Phelps Show.

After riding the wave from his 001:Experiments project throughout 2017, Montreal native Lou Phelps kicked off the new year with “Come Inside” alongside Jazz Cartier and his older brother, Kaytranada. And now, the song (which might just be our favorite from his catalog) is brought to life with an accompanying music video.

“I wanted to make a trippy video and the main inspiration was ‘Blame It on The Boogie’ from the Jacksons. So we were like ‘How can I get high without promoting drugs?’ And that’s where the incense came from,” Phelps told Billboard. “A good way to introduce the incense was me watching myself in a parallel universe on my own talk show. I wanna let the viewers of this video interpret the meaning of it how they want. But mine is basically, no matter how much you try to escape your problems, they keep on catching up to you.”

Sitting on the couch, avoiding calls from “Do Not Answer” (heh), Phelps tunes into The Lou Phelps Show (which he’s hosting, of course), before coming across an infomercial for “incense” that he feels compelled to order. From there, things get weird. After burning a few sticks, Lou is shot into a parallel universe (his kitchen) where he gets his dance on with a few lovely ladies, before getting gunned down by an unknown woman — our guess, he probably should’ve answered that call.
