The 2018 NBA Playoffs have arrived and J. Cole wants in.
Fresh off joining Royce 5’9″ and Cozz on a pair of records, the captain of the Dreamville squad is back with another verse—this time, providing NBA on ESPN with new raps for their latest commercial.
Over highlights of the 2017-2018 season, Cole kicks some inspirational rhymes while making sure to reference players and teams that are prepared for battle.
“It’s gold at stake for Golden State/ How much weight can King’s shoulders take,” he raps, clearly shouting out the Warriors and LeBron James, before reciting “Never sleep on a man that’s expected to lose/ With a chip on his shoulder and something to prove,” while Russell Westbrook throws one down and hypes up the crowd.
