It’s been nearly five years since Aloe Blacc released an album (2013’s Lift Your Spirit), but the gifted singer is finally back with a new album on the horizon.
Releasing on XIX/Interscope later this year, “The Man” kicks off the campaign with the release of the album’s lead single, “Brooklyn in the Summer.”
“‘Brooklyn in the Summer’ is a soulful ballad that reminds me of classics like Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together’ and Earth Wind & Fire’s ‘After the Love Has Gone,'” says Blacc. “If you’ve ever fallen deep in love you can relate. If you haven’t yet, then this is what real love feels like!”
UPDATE: Three weeks after releasing the single, Aloe comes through with a matching video. Shot in Brooklyn, obviously, the Anthony Williams-directed clip can be seen below.
